norwood weaving loomUsed Woolee Winder for Louet Spinning Wheel (new model shown at left; the used one has a light brown unvarnished finish). This WooLee Winder (level wind flyer) is from my personal "stash", which I am attempting to downsize. It is priced at $210 and includes 2 bobbins, and shipping in the continental US. Very good condition, but I rarely use the wheel I purchased it for, so am making it available. Woolee Winders enable you to spin so much faster - no changing of bobbin-hooks so you can spin an entire bobbin of yarn with the yarn lined up smoothly and evenly, without ever stopping. Fits the following Louet wheels: S10, S15, S17, S51, S75, S76, and S77 models, and has drive ratios of 9.6:1 and 13.7:1. According to the manufacturer, some of the benefits of using the WooLee Winder are that you will be able to:
Spin a More Consistent Yarn: Constantly checking on your bobbin as it fills can be a frustrating part of spinning. The interruption of stopping to change to the next hook breaks your rhythm making it more difficult to spin a consistent yarn.
Spin More Yarn in Less Time: The WooLee Winder will save you many small bits of time that can really add up. You can spin an entire bobbin full without stopping to change any hooks. In addition, winding your yarn levelly onto the bobbin means that you can fit a lot more yarn on each bobbin making bobbin changes less frequent. Also, most of the WooLee Winder bobbins are larger then the original bobbins for that wheel. This added capacity lets you put up to twice as much yarn on each bobbin. Many spinners have said that they can save as much as 1/3 of their spinning time using their WooLee Winder.
Ply Like Never Before: You'll think of plying in a totally different light when you use your WooLee Winder. You'll be able to ply an entire bobbin of yarn in only a few minutes and without stopping. This will allow you to ply evenly and consistently. Plying from WooLee Winder bobbins can also help to improve your plying experience since the yarn on these bobbins will unwind smoothly without any of the problems experienced with hook-wound bobbins.
Never Change Hooks Again: The patented level-wind mechanism built into the flyer arm moves automatically as you let in the yarn. This moving eyelet allows you to fill the entire bobbin smoothly and effortlessly.
Have More Fun with Spinning: You'll enjoy handspinning more then ever with the WooLee Winder. Its smooth, effortless action lets you do the spinning and lets your equipment do the work.

This machine has 3 cylinders, a 60 and 80, and 100, and 3 ribber dials, 30, 40, and 50 slot. (The ribber stop on the 80/40 combination is broken, and one slot has been repaired). Included with the 3 cylinders and 3 ribber dials is a ribber, set up basket, yarn mast and yarn carrier, weights, 1 cylinder spring, and needles. The 60 and 80 slot cylinders take 12 gauge needles, and the 100 slot cylinder (which needs milling to fit into the machine) takes 18 gauge needles. We also supply a link to an original Gearhart manual online. It has not been restored or had the stitch length adjusted, but all the parts fit properly (except as noted) and it is in very good condition. There is no reason to believe it would not work beautifully after cleaning, sanding, oiling and adjusting, and minor repairs. It comes with 80 new 12 gauge cylinder needles to get you started on the 60 and 80 slot cylinders. The 100 slot cylinder takes very unusual 18 gauge needles which are not included, but we do have ORIGINAL, UNUSED, 18 Gauge needles in stock for $100 per 125.
