I've loved old spinning wheels and weaving looms since long before I learned to weave and spin, nearly 30 years ago. Even as a child, I was intrigued with the artistry and grace of spinning wheels, and massive power of weaving looms. I hope you enjoy looking at some of our "finds" and perhaps give one a good home.
Coming soon! Many more interesting antique spinning wheels, and an assortment of heddles in various lengths - please inquire through email if you're in the market for them.

ANTIQUE SKEIN WINDER, YARN WINDER
Please click on the picture for more photos. This extremely old yarn skein winder, estimated to have been made in the early 1800s, has been a treasured part of my household for many years. Because of downsizing my property, I am offering it for sale. The area which holds the yarn can be folded for storage.
It is rather fragile, and has had a few modest repairs made, but overall this skeiner is in acceptable condition for its age and quite original. At one point in its long life, wood worms took residence, but I have seen no sign that they have been in evidence since I purchased it years ago. The clock hand doesn't move while winding, probably due to a missing peg, but a few minor changes could likely be made so it would be functional. The gears appear strong. I think its best use is as a treasured piece of history, though. Yarn Skeiner approximate dimensions, 25" x 20" x 13".
$265 includes shipping in the continental US. Available in Spring 2018.
