Apple Hollow Farm E-Catalog

Welcome to Apple Hollow Farm's E-Catalog

SPINNING WHEELS

New Jensen, Schacht, Majacraft, Louet, Ashford, Fricke, and Babe spinning wheels - many models in stock, and if you are in the area, you can try them out at the shop. In addition to our Spinning Wheel Page, our Spinning Fibers and Supplies Page will be of interest to you for drumcarders, hand cards, spinning and felting tools, dyes, kits, and fibers. I love to spin, and I blend and dye many of the fibers I have available for sale.  My preferences are very soft fibers with lots of color, but I try to have something available for every taste - washed, picked, carded, tops, rovings, batts, clouds, dyed fibers, and blends, plus raw fleeces.

WEAVING LOOMS

New Schacht, Harrisville, Glimakra, Mirrix, Louet, Ashford Looms, all sizes, are on our Floor Looms and Table Looms pages, plus wonderful shuttles, weaving yarns, kits, and accessories are on the Weaving Yarn and Supplies page. Beautiful looms and yarns for fabulous weaving projects!

BOOKS & VIDEOS

I sell most books and videos which are currently available, related to fiber arts, or, you can easily teach yourself to spin or weave by using Videos and Books. These are wonderful resources for learning.

WEAVING & KNITTING YARNS

Beautiful Harrisville wool warp and weft yarns, Mountain Colors Yarns and kits, and Henry's Attic cotton, silk, rayon, and linen weft yarns can be found on the Weaving Yarns and Supplies Page. And, the latest REGIA sock knitting yarns, fantastic colors and magical pattern designs, are on the Regia Sock Yarn Page; we also stock sportweight Bartlett Yarns for more traditional sock- knitting.

SHEPHERD'S WATCHES & JEWELRY

This page features jewelry and gift items of interest to shepherds and fiber artists; stay tuned for unique and hand-crafted items as well as traditional gifts on this frequently-changing page.

SHEEP

My life is enriched by having a few purebred Rambouillet, Merino and Hampshire sheep. Most of them were either bottle lambs or tame show sheep when young, and now they are living out their lives in comfort, with nothing to do but relax, graze, and grow wool for me.  White Rambouillet fleeces are available in the Spring and throughout the year.  Here is the Story of My Flock.

ANTIQUE & USED SPINNING WHEELS & WEAVING LOOMS

I started my business buying, restoring, and selling antique spinning wheels and looms. Working antique wheels start at about $300.00. I'll see if I can find an heirloom for you. Occasionally we find used equipment which appears on these pages, and also offer a consignment advertising service for those of you who wish to sell your own equipment. We also have recently begun to offer restored Circular Sock Knitting Machines and publish information about related sites on the CSM page. In the antiques section, you will also find Spinning Wheel & Loom Diagrams that will help you to identify the parts of your equipment, and Photographs of Antique Looms .
Please note, we do not give appraisals on antique equipment that you might be interested in buying or selling, or have information available on the history of your own antique wheel or loom.

USED EQUIPMENT

WE BUY & SELL & TRADE

Have an old wheel or loom you've outgrown or that doesn't suit you?  Want to trade it in? Let me know what you've got!  I sell used wheels and looms at prices greatly reduced from retail!  If you have a wheel you'd like to sell or trade in, let me know. The used floor loom stock varies widely, and changes frequently. Most of the used looms that I find are 2 and 4 harness floor looms, 24-36" weaving width.  If there is a specific style or brand of used loom you are looking for, I'll try to find it for you. (Large used floor looms are not shippable, and must be picked up at the shop, however, I DO ship new floor looms.) Let me know what you're looking for and your price range.  Usually you will be able to save 25 percent or more off the current retail price.

SALES & BARGAINS

If you like bargains, visit the Sales Page for inventory overstocks, special purchases, seasonal specials, one of a kind or discontinued items, and slightly shopworn, or out-of-print books.

CURRENT EVENTS, NEWS & CLASSES

Here's where you can find out what is going on in the Hollow! Our class, workshop, and show schedules, and the Apple Hollow Newsletter, are published on the often-changing Current Events Page. In this section you will also find our Helpful Hints Page for fiber folks, which includes conversion tables, reed charts, and general information about fibers and fiber equipment.

FAIRYTALES AND FOLKLORE

Visit the Fairytales and Folklore pages for bedtime stories and whimsical information which contain some rather incidental and obscure references to spinning and weaving. And, if you have a suggestion for a fiber or sheep fairytale or story, please email me and I'll consider adding it to this section.

THE CATALOG

We have debated for years about the advisability of offering a paper catalog - so many people ask for one. But, you all know where most of the catalogs you receive in the mail end up - in the recycling bin, in many cases without being read. We have made the choice to have an electronic web catalog only. In this way, we hope to contribute the money we have saved by not printing a paper catalog to environmental efforts, and add a bit less to the polution of our environment. Please feel free to print out any specific pages of interest to you and use them as you would a catalog - we make every attempt to keep our pricing current. Our long range plan is to eventually offer a PDF catalog which you will be able to download directly from our website.

COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS

Or, if there's something you can't find, or a product that you would like additional information about, just let me know.
