TRIANGLE FRAME WEAVING LOOMS

We offer our version of the triangle frame loom for weaving shawls, bias blankets and throws, and more, limited only by your imagination! Our hand-made triangle loom kit is 6'8" on the long edge to provide a large shawl, and we also have a 40" version, with pegs inserted, for other projects. Even if you have never woven before, this type of loom makes it easy by letting you warp and weave simultaneously, using a continuous weave method; there is no wasted yarn in weaving on a triangular loom, and no expensive weaving accessories are required. You'll weave directly by pulling a loop of yarn from a center-pull ball through each row of yarn. The average full-sized shawl takes less than 400 yards of yarn; the small version takes less than 100 yards. Sturdily built of oak with hardwood pegs, the loom disassembles for storage within seconds. Sold unfinished, you may choose to apply danish wood oil or leave unfinished. Our triangle weaving instruction sheet is included, but if you are new to weaving on a triloom, we suggest that you order the DVD listed below. The large size 6'8" triangle loom kit is predrilled, with corner hardware already assemble, and comes complete with hardwood pegs for you to insert - just put a drop of glue on each, and insert the pegs yourself, and oil the frame as you wish. We've redesigned our large triangle loom so it now comes in 4 sections so it can be disassembled to take even less storage space than it did originally. Very simple assembly! 40" ASSEMBLED TRIANGLE LOOM
Our small size triangle loom is approximately 40" on the long edge. This more portable loom makes triangles which can be used as neck scarves, or you can assemble a number of the small triangles to create garments. Easily disassembles for storage. (We also have one "B stock" available for $10 less; this means it may have a cosmetic "blem" like an extra hole which has been plugged.) How to design and weave a shawl on a simple triangle frame loom. Triangles can be combined to make blankets, jackets, and more. Covers plain weave, leno, twill, plaids, combining different yarns. All of the instruction you'll need for your new triangle loom purchase! What an easy, fun way to use nice yarns and leftover "stash" to make the most practical of woven garments. The best thing about this video is it lets you see that simple, elegant weaving is possible without a large, expensive floor loom. This is excellent for non-weavers as well as accomplished weavers. 89 minutes.

MOHAIR BLEND BOUCLE YARN
We love using this yarn in our woven shawls! It is dense enough to avoid a "too-airy" look in your shawl, yet fairly easy for a beginner to use. It has the luster of mohair, fabulous texture, and is available 3 hand-dyed variegated colors (mangled tangled, toast, and purple earth). The purple earth color is available in 2 weights, standard boucle and "fat boucle". Content is 78% Kid Mohair 13% Wool 9% Nylon, and if used for knitting, the gauge is 3.5 - 4 sts/inch on size 8 needles. Care recommendation is hand wash cool, dry flat. Each skein (approximately 200 grams) contains 432 yards, plenty for a shawl made on our large triangle looms. The "fat boucle" has larger "bubbles" and contains 162 yards in 200 grams, knitting gauge 2 - 2.5 sts/inch on size 17 needles. Please click on the image to see the color selections. These colors are also available in a fine mohair strand (not shown). This fine mohair coordinates with the boucle, and contains 490 yards in 50 grams. Knitting gauge for the mohair is 7.5 - 8 sts/inch on size 6 needles. Use the mohair alone, or run a strand along with it when weaving on the triangle loom, to enhance the texture.
